The Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences: A virtual tour
ůůֱ College's Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences (BTCIS) is the largest single academic project in College history.
Completed in 2024, this impressive facility brings together all 10 of ůůֱ's science departments and programs under one roof, creating new opportunities for students and faculty to learn, teach, and conduct research across disciplines.
Designed to foster creativity, the Center embodies a collaborative approach to scientific inquiry rooted in ůůֱ's liberal arts tradition. Thoughtfully designed with sustainability in mind, the building reflects ůůֱ's commitment to environmental stewardship and preparing students to address the complex challenges facing our world.
“The Center for Integrated Sciences is more than interdisciplinary, which puts disciplines side by side; this weaves them together, creating new synergies and creative possibilities,” reflected President Marc C. Conner. “This is how a college whose motto is Creative Thought Matters should teach science to its students.”
Home to more than 90 science faculty members, the facility offers students access to advanced laboratories, collaborative learning spaces, Schupf Family IdeaLab (a makerspace and innovation center), and sophisticated research equipment, including the ůůֱ McGraw Microscopy Imaging Center, whose instrumentation rivals that of major research institutions.
Students work alongside award-winning faculty on research that addresses real-world questions and prepares them for graduate study and careers in the sciences.
Take this virtual tour to explore the spaces where ůůֱ students learn, discover, and innovate every day.
